We all have read plenty of news reports about the incredible rise in number of cases of Covid-19. George Latimer, Westchester’s County Executive has come out with some excellent safety recommendations for Thursday.
Thanksgiving is a time to reflect and celebrate the blessings we have in our lives. Although we cannot celebrate with our usual traditions, or gather together with our friends and extended families, we have a lot to be grateful for, especially our frontline workers. These brave men and woman have put our health and safety above their own – they astonish up with their bravery every day. This year the safest way to celebrate is with a virtual celebration. However, if you are planning to celebrate in person, make sure you are practicing social distancing and wear your mask.

You should also follow these tips:
- Open the windows to promote cross-ventilation.
- Run your kitchen exhaust fan.
- Keep guests out of the kitchen.
- Wash or sanitize hands frequently.
- Have your guests wear a mask unless they are eating or drinking.
- Avoid passing platters from person to person.
- Designate one person with gloved hands to serve buffet style from a central location.
- Consider making side dishes in single-serve ramekins and using single service plates and utensils.
- Remind your guests to stay home if they have any COVID symptoms or a fever, are awaiting COVID test results, or are under quarantine or isolation orders.
Thank you George. Be safe everyone.
